Put up its tenth"EMERGENCE", Chinese Dance New Works Showcase, at the Goodman Arts Centre Blackbox.

Put up its eighth "Under the BIG Tree" at SHHK Cultural Academy.

Put up its eleventh company production, "A Symphony of Life", at the Singtel Waterfront Theatre at Esplanade.

Put up its fourteenth "Taking Flight" at the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre Auditorium.

Organised the ninth "Chinese Dance Fiesta".

2023

Put up its ninth "EMERGENCE", Chinese Dance New Works Showcase, at the Goodman Arts Centre Blackbox.

Put up its seventh "Under the BIG Tree" at SHHK Cultural Academy.

Participated in the inaugural Banjarmasin International Performing Arts Festival held in Banjarmasin, Indonesia and presented "Spring Breeze" and "Phases within our Control".

Participated in the Solo International Performing Arts Festival held in Banjarmasin, Indonesia and presented "Spring Breeze" and "Phases within our Control".

Put up its tenth company production, "Where the Flowers Bloom", at the Goodman Arts Centre Blackbox.

Put up its thirteenth "Taking Flight" at the National University of Singapore University Cultural Centre, Theatre.

Participated in the 19th Busan International Dance Festival held in Busan, South Korea and presented "Veiled" and "Phases within our Control".

Organised the eighth "Chinese Dance Fiesta".

2022

Put up its eighth "EMERGENCE", Chinese Dance New Works Showcase, at the Goodman Arts Centre Blackbox.

Representing Singapore to partake in the ASEAN Unity for Peace Cultural Festival (ASEAN UP Cultural Festival) held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and presented "Veiled".

Put up its sixth "Under the BIG Tree" at SHHK Cultural Academy.

Put up its ninth company production, "SOAR: A Devotion" at the Goodman Arts Centre Blackbox.

Participated in Sibu International Dance Festival 2022 - Jejak Angin held in Sibu, Malaysia and presented "Veiled".

Organised the seventh "Chinese Dance Fiesta".

Received support from the National Arts Council under the Major Company Scheme from April 2022 to March 2025.

2021

"The Susurration of the Tree" was screened at the "Toronto International Dance Festival 2021“ held in Toronto, Canada.

 

Put up its seventh "EMERGENCE", Chinese Dance New Works Showcase, at the Goodman Arts Centre Blackbox.

Put up its second "Mid-Autumn Celebration Online", alongside performers from the Japanese, Korean, Thai and Vietnamese communities in Singapore.

Put up its eighth company production, "The Susurration of the Tree", online.

​The fourth Management Committee was formed, with Mr Lee Sze Leong appointed as Chairman.

Organised the sixth "Chinese Dance Fiesta".

Mr Benedict Soh was appointed as Creative Director.

Madam Neo Jenny was appointed as the new Artistic Director.

2020

 

"Beneath the Sheath" was screened at the World Dance Alliance (Asia Pacific) International Dance Conference held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Put up first "Mid-Autumn Celebration Online", alongside four other dance groups from Atlanta (USA), Macau SAR (China), Mauritius and Tokyo (Japan).

2019

 

Participated in the Maritime Silk Road International Art of Dance Week held in Fujian, China and presented "Beneath the Sheath".

Put up its seventh company production, "Crossings: A Double Bill", at the Drama Centre Theatre.

Organised the fifth "Chinese Dance Fiesta".

Formation of Outreach and Education (ONE) division and officiated by Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. 

 

Put up its fifth "Under the BIG Tree" at Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy.

Received support from the National Arts Council under the Major Company Scheme from April 2019 to March 2022.

Put up its sixth "EMERGENCE", Chinese Dance New Works Showcase, at SCDT Blackbox Theatre.

2018

Put up its twelfth "Taking Flight" at the Drama Centre Theatre.

Participated in Singapore - Vietnam  Joint performance at Vietnam National Tuong Theatre, held in Hanoi, Vietnam, to commemorate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Singapore and Vietnam.

Put up its sixth company production, "Dance Drama: The Greatest Good," at the Drama Centre Theatre.

The Third Management Committee was formed with Mr Tan Cheng Gay appointed as Chairman.

Organised the fourth "Chinese Dance Fiesta".

Put up its fourth "Under the BIG Tree" at Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy.

Put up its fifth "EMERGENCE", Chinese Dance New Works Showcase, at SCDT Blackbox Theatre.

 

2017

Put up its eleventh "Taking Flight" at the Victoria Theatre.

Participated in the First Maritime Silk Road International Art of Dance Week held in Fujian, China and presented "Essence of Existence".

Participated in the "Vietnam International Dance Festival 2017" held in Ninh Bin, Vietnam and presented the dance drama "Wilderness". The performance clinched a Gold award. 

Put up its fifth company production, "HEARTiculation", at the School of the Arts Theatre.

Participated in the "ASEAN Music and Dance Forum" held in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

Organised the third "Chinese Dance Fiesta".

Put up its third "Under the BIG Tree" at Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy.

The company's name changed to "Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre" and was officiated by the President of the Republic of Singapore, Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam.

Put up its fourth "EMERGENCE", Chinese Dance New Works Showcase, at SCDT Blackbox Theatre.

2016

Put up its tenth "Taking Flight" at the National University of Singapore University Cultural Centre, Hall.

Mr Chua Thian Poh was appointed as Chairman.

 

Participated in the "World Dance Alliance (Asia Pacific) Celebrating Connection Local and Global Integration through Dance" held in Seoul, South Korea.

Put up its fourth company production, "Dance Drama: Life's A Stage," at the Drama Centre Theatre.

Organised the second "Chinese Dance Fiesta".

Put up its second "Under the BIG Tree" at the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy.

Received support from the National Arts Council under the Major Company Scheme from April 2016 to March 2019.

Received the Institute of Public Character (IPC) status on 17 February 2016.

Put up its third "EMERGENCE", Chinese Dance New Works Showcase, at the SCDT Blackbox Theatre.

2015

Put up its ninth "Taking Flight" at the National University of Singapore University Cultural Centre, Hall.

Performed at the Asia Pacific Performing Arts Networks (APPAN) International Symposium "The Wisdom of Age in Performance: The Intangible Heritage of the Asia Pacific" held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Co-organised and put up its first "Chinese Dance Fiesta", a nationwide Chinese dance outreach programme with the National Arts Council.

Put up its third company production, "Journey: Purpose in Motion", at the School of the Arts (SOTA) Theatre.

The Second Management Committee was formed with Mr Chua Seng Chong appointed as Chairman.

Registered as a Charity under the Commissioner of Charities on 14 April 2015. 

Put up its first "Under the BIG Tree", an outdoor Chinese dance Carnival, at the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Cultural Academy.

Put up its second company production, "ROOTED: A Triple Bill", at Victoria Theatre.

 

Put up its second "EMERGENCE", Chinese Dance New Works Showcase, at the SCDT Blackbox Theatre.

2014

Put up its eighth "Taking Flight" at the National University of Singapore University Cultural Centre, Hall.

Participated in the "Third China Cao Yu Culture Week" held in Qianjiang, China.

Put up its first "EMERGENCE", Chinese Dance New Works Showcase, at the SCDT Blackbox Theatre.

The First Management Committee was formed with Mr Perng Peck Seng appointed as Chairman.

Incorporated as "Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Dance Theatre", a professional dance company on 1 July 2014.

Put up its first company production, "Dance Drama: A Startling Dream," at the Kallang Theatre.

2013

Put up its seventh "Taking Flight" at the National University of Singapore University Cultural Centre, Theatre.

Received support from the National Arts Council under the Seed Grant Scheme from April 2013 to March 2016.

2012

Put up its tenth "ACT Dance Night - Traces" at the National University of Singapore University Cultural Centre, Hall.

Put up its sixth "Taking Flight" at the National University of Singapore University Cultural Centre, Theatre.

2011

Put up the fifth "Taking Flight" at the National University of Singapore University Cultural Centre, Theatre.

Put up its fourth "Taking Flight" at the Lee Foundation Theatre, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

2010

Put up its ninth "ACT Dance Night - Expression‧Impression" at The Republic Cultural Centre, Theatre.

Put up its third "Taking Flight" at the Lee Foundation Theatre, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

2008

Put up its second "Taking Flight" at the Lee Foundation Theatre, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

Put up its eighth "ACT Dance Night - Pursuit of Passion" at the Victoria Theatre.

2007

Put up its first "Taking Flight" dance showcase at the Siew May Auditorium, Nanyang Girl's High School.

2006

Put up its seventh "ACT Dance Night - Yesterday's stage... TODAY" at the Victoria Theatre.

2004

 

Put up its sixth "ACT Dance Night - Dynamism" at the Victoria Theatre.

2002

 

Participated in the "Liverpool International Theatre Festival" in Canada. The dance "Madam White Snake" won a standing ovation from the audience, along with "The People's Choice" and "Best Visual Performance.

2001

Put up its fifth "ACT Dance Night - Portraiture" at the Victoria Theatre.

1999

Put up its fourth "ACT Dance Night - Tranquility in the Stream of Silence" at the Victoria Theatre.

Relocated into the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations building in Toa Payoh Lorong 2.​​

1990

Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Dance Troupe was officially formed by founding Artistic Director Madam Lim Moi Kim as part of the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Arts & Cultural Troupe.

1988

Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Arts & Cultural Troupe gathered approximately 30 Chinese dance enthusiasts, comprising students and young adults, to form its first Chinese dance class with Madam Lim Moi Kim as the instructor, at Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Building in Telok Ayer Street.
